Shape & Surface
Corner rounding, shadow style and intensity, border treatment, surface layering. From sharp and flat to soft and stacked.
How the brand moves through space. Shape, motion, density, and rhythm—independent of color and typography. This is the spatial personality that makes two sites with the same palette feel completely different.
Color and fonts are the most visible brand choices, but they’re not what makes a brand feel cohesive. The design language is the invisible structure underneath—how much whitespace surrounds content, how corners are shaped, how elements respond to interaction, how sections transition into each other.
Clients select a design language during onboarding. The selection is presented in monochrome with a neutral font, isolating the spatial feel from color and type so the response is to rhythm and structure—not “I like that blue.”
Each design language is a curated preset of 42 variables across eight categories. These are not 42 individual choices—they’re a single selection that sets the spatial personality.
Corner rounding, shadow style and intensity, border treatment, surface layering. From sharp and flat to soft and stacked.
Content density, section rhythm, component gaps, container width. From tight and compact to airy and generous.
Animation timing, easing curves, hover behavior, page transitions, scroll expression. From snappy and minimal to smooth and deliberate.
Grid character, hero patterns, card arrangements, image treatment, section dividers. From strict and symmetric to dynamic and asymmetric.
Not the fonts themselves, but how type is used. Headline scale, case treatment, letter-spacing, alignment, pull quote style.
Trust signal positioning, social proof density, CTA escalation, form personality, validation feedback.
Menu character, footer architecture, mobile gesture patterns. From minimal flat links to dense mega-dropdowns.
Accent spread, icon style, background texture, separators, loading states, empty states, error presentation.
Design language presets are in development. Each will include an evocative name, a one-line personality description, the full 42-variable preset, and a monochrome preview for client selection.
